Eminent economists – Dr. Tirthankar Patnaik, Chief Economist, Mizuho Bank, Mr. A.K. Mitra, Director, Monetary Policy Department, RBI and Mr. Saugata Bhattacharya, VP and Chief Economist, Axis Bank, graced the campus and helped SPJIMR students gain deep insights by a discussion on macroeconomic indicators in India and the world.
They lucidly elaborated on the growth scenario in India, the impact of rising commodity prices and the Chinese debacle. Students gained better perspectives on the impact of the changing macroeconomic trends on banking and finance sectors.
It was a rich experience for the PGDM students, a timely supplement to the course on macroeconomics since they got a flavour of how the theories work in the Indian and global context.
