SPJIMR Students Win Novartis Case Competitions
Team ‘SPartans Unleashed’ from SPJIMR were declared national winners in the Novartis Case Competition. The event was organised by Novartis, providing a great platform for the students to interact with the Novartis India management team. There was intense participation from the top B-schools across India. It was a good learning experience for our team who delivered a business proposition for a successful dermatology drug launch and bagged the first prize in the competition.
The team comprised of Rajarshi Mukherjee, Sameer Deshpande (PGDM Class of 2016) and Sourav Sen, Tarannum Deep (PGDM Class of 2017).
Stock Torero National Winners
Congratulations to PGDM participants Siddharth Parakh and Deep Vakharia for becoming the national winners in the Stock Torero competition organised by the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Stock Torero is a national-level financial market event organised by the BSE Institute, and had participants from leading institutes, including the IIMs and IITs.
Each team was given Rs.25 lakh of virtual money to trade in stocks and maximise returns. Team SPJIMR notched a return of over Rs.7.5 lakh.
The event was held in the historic International Convention Hall of BSE, a place where the stocks used to be traded by the outcry method where the IPO debut bell is now rung by CEOs and MDs. The felicitation ceremony was presided over by Mr. Ashish Kumar Chauhan, the MD & CEO of BSE. Team SPJIMR won prize money of Rs 15,000 plus a memento of the Wall Street Bull and got an invite to provide inputs to enhance the training & research platform.

Team SPJIMR Enters HUL LIME 7 National Finals
Congratulations to Team SPJIMR for taking the first place at the Hindustan Unilever Limited Lessons in Marketing Excellence (LIME) Season 7 semifinals. A total of 15 teams from top B-schools in India challenged each other on the Pureit water purifier case in the national semifinals. The SPJIMR team comprising (L to R) Saurabh Banerjee, Gautam Singh and Aditi Garg stood first. The team now moves to the nationals round, where it will compete with two other teams on a case concerning live issues from the Government of India.

Starting with IIM Lucknow’s Manfest-Varchasva:
SPJIMR team comprising of V Abhishek, Nidhi Agarwala and Palak Gupta won the Third prize in “ stratstruck” – a competition which involved analysing and marketing the three gold reform schemes introduced by the Government of India. The competition was sponsored by the World Gold Council.
The SPJIMR debating team comprising of Mayukh Bhadra Chowdhury and Kirtee Jhawar also emerged victorious in the competition “Joust”, after a tough fight with 12 other teams in the knock out rounds.
At the IIM Ahmedabad’s annual management fest – Confluence:
PGP 1 participants Sidhi Isharwalia and Harsh Singhania won the second prize in the case writing competition – “International case matters”.They analysed D-Mart and suggested it’s future growth strategies.
Raghav Pareek and Aditi Dalmia took part in “ Parivartan”, clearing a quiz with over 500 participating teams. The second round involved a submission of an essay on the Land Acquisition Act of India and a presentation on the current state of the Indian Democracy and the possibility of an emergency-like situation again in India. The top 3 teams were chosen for the last round where in the teams had to present in front of the panel comprising eminent faculty from IIM A.The SPJIMR team won the second prize.
At NMIMS, Mumbai’s competition “Sutras” SPJIMR team consisting of Naman Khannna, Dhruvin Gosar and Kushal Agarwal presented their emergency health care services business plan and emerged as the winners from 260 other teams.They presented their plan before a jury consisting eminent panelists, including Rahul Narayanan, VP of Sequioa and other renowned VCs.
