The Birthday of former Prime Minister of our country, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee is celebrated across the country as the “Good Governance Day” each year on the 25th of December.
On this occasion, the B-School competitions committee organized a public-speaking competition on the topic “Use of Technology and Innovation in promoting Good Governance”. The contest was held in two phases, Phase 1 was a submission of a write up on the topic in less than 2 pages, and Phase 2 had the qualifiers from phase 1 presenting in front of the jury.
Eight participants made it to second phase, which was conducted on 24th January 2014. Judges for the event were Profs. Jiban Mukhopadhyay, RK Pattnaik and Mr. Jagdish Rattnani. Gyayak Jain from PGP-2 came first, followed by Sai Vamsi Krishna and Pranshu Nahar in second and third, both from PGP-1. Prizes worth Rs. 30000 were handed out in all.
The event was well received and was attended by most students from PGP-1, and included others like Profs. Abbasali Gabula, Anshul Verma, Anil Vaidya and Jyoti Jagasia. The Competitions Committee sure won a lot of hearts with this innovative, yet relevant contest.
