With recruiters looking for talent and skills beyond mere academic proficiency, a lot of corporate companies and B-schools conduct competitions to invite B school students to match their wits against each other to solve business problems and prove their potential as future business leaders.
SPJIMR students have consistently proved their acumen in renowned competitions such as HUL LIME and Amazon ACE. Carrying on the winning spree, SPJIMR students shone at the recently concluded BIAC 8 (Become Indra’s Advisors Contest) Season 8 conducted by PepsiCo India.
Team ‘Falsehoods Grasshopper’ comprising of PGP-1 students Garima Mehra, Rahul Muralidharan and Sheetal Sehgal emerged as the second runners up at BIAC 8 .The contest involved designing an e-commerce strategy for PepsiCo to become the leading FMCG player in India. The contest ran in multiple stages. From an initial pool of entries, the top 25 were selected and this was further narrowed down to the top 6 in the country.
The top 6 teams had to fly down to Gurgaon on 26 November to present their solutions before an eminent jury comprising of business leaders from Big Basket, Facebook and PepsiCo. The event was telecasted through web in all the top B-schools. After a series of intense presentations and gruelling questioning, IIMC emerged as the winners, IMT as first runners-up and SPJIMR as second runners-up.
Team ‘Falsehoods Grasshopper’ won 1.5 lakhs as a cash award and a PPI from PepsiCo. Kudos to them and hope the winning streak continues unabated at SPJIMR.
